Here's my latest studio work, playing keys on "Running Out of Time"

from Philadelphia's "Valhalla Rising", Featuring Guitar Virtuouso and Producer Chris Gordon

About Chris...

Chris McCoy grew up in Northern Virginia and later moved to Montgomery County, Maryland where he currently resides.  As the grandson of a highly successful Piano Teacher, Organist and Choir Director, Chris began in music taking piano lessons at age 6. Later at age 10 he also joined the school band where he learned to play trombone. He continued to study trombone through high school including a summer at Interlochen Center for the Arts in 1984 and one year at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL (1985-86) where he was also a member of the Marching Chiefs.

Returning from Tallahassee Florida in 1986 to his childhood home in Vienna, Virginia, Chris changed musical direction from Trombone to Rock Keyboards when he joined a local band as keyboardist and began recording original material and performing in the VA/MD/DC area nightclubs. In 1987 Chris was recruited by a local DC area band called "Mis-Fit", with whom he traveled the East Coast, recording demos and playing to large audiences while seeking a record deal.

In 1991 He joined Baltimore's "Intuition" with whom he wrote and recorded songs for the debut CD release, "Turn it On" (Megarock Records, 1994). Over the years he joined and performed with several tribute bands including tributes to Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty and ELO.

In 2020 Chris was asked to perform with "Tokyo Motor Fist" (Frontiers Records), a supergroup including Ted Poley, (lead singer for Danger Danger), and Steve Brown ( Guitarist for Trixter, Def Leppard, Dennis De Young and Wizards of Winter), Greg Smith (Bassist for Ted Nugent, Rainbow, and Alice Cooper), and Chuck Burgi (Drummer for Billy Joel and Rainbow). Although the pandemic caused that performance to be postponed, Chris was able to perform with Tokyo Motor Fist in 2021 at the M3 Music Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

Chris has also completed Studio work for Steve Brown, "One to Lean On",  Paul Piccari, Hit The Ground Runnin, Johnny Stassi, Stian Pian Thoresen, Christian Scarborough, Intuition, Mis-Fit, Valhalla Rising/Chris Gordon and others. He has performed live with Ted Poley (Danger Danger), Steve Brown  (Trixter, Def Leppard, Tokyo Motor Fist),  PJ Farley (Trixter), Billy Orrico (Angel), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Steve "Mazz" Mazza (Billy Monroe and the Soul Survivors, Ted Poley Band), Ben Hans (Eric Martin, Trixter Acoustic),  Jason Draven (This Island Earth, Doublevision), Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, Rainbow, Alice Cooper, Tyketto), Jordan Cannata (Adrenaline Mob, Slaughter), Chris Tristram (House of Lords, Jack Russell's Great White), Fred Gorhau (Wizards of Winter),  Andre Virus Karkos (Big and Rich, Rock of Ages Broadway), Lee Townsend (The Ravyns),  Tim Steele (The Ravyns), Kenny Carter  (The Guess Who),  Scott Metaxas (Prophet, Nuclear Assault) and Tommy Grasso (Dave Menniketti, Freddy Jackson,) .
